Best of Then and Now CD

My new CD is here!

This summer/fall I went into the studio to record 5 new songs that have been favorites around Westwinds this year. I decided to add those tunes to 10 others that have been favorites through the years and put out this CD. Many of the 10 older songs will seem new to many who have only recently been introduced to my music. Some are from out-of-print albums.

This is a 15 song CD. 10 songs come from 2 live albums, an acoustic album, and 3 studio albums. 5 songs have never been released on any album until now.

These 15 songs represent nearly 20 years and what seems like at least 3 lifetimes for me as a songwriter, traveling musician, coffeehouse troubadour, street performer, bar singer, and local church musician.

They are my response to living the life Jesus invited me to live. I have played some of these songs 100's of times--from California up to the Pacific Northwest, over to Michigan and throughout Europe. Others are still very fresh in my soul.

My New Book "King Me" is Here

My new book King Me is now available on Amazon. At checkout, you will have an option for getting me any special notes). The audiobook will be available in a few short weeks.

The Book of Psalms contains a wonderful collection of songs known as the "Kingly Psalms." The Kingly Psalms inspire people with hope and encourage us in our faith, give us a window to the past and a connection with our brothers and sisters of long ago, and connect the worlds of the First and Second Testaments as we see a people praising a King and longing for the Messiah-Jesus-who has revealed himself to us.

This book is a musical and poetic journey through the Kingly Psalms. It's a little bit of a history lesson. But more than anything, it's an invitation into the throne room of a living King who has an invitation of His own to hand out.

Where Am I?

This weekend at Westwinds we participated in a simple interactive worship moment. We invited everyone to take a card off of a table and write something on each side:

Side 1= one word that describes where you are with Jesus/one word that sums up your current spiritual state

Side 2= something you want our staff to pray with you about

About half of our adults who were here participated in this prayerful moment which is very encouraging. It takes some courage to get out of your seat and participate in something.

I am thankful for our people's honesty. These words mean something. I am looking forward to following up with many of them.
