It's Here!

"Fleas Naughty Dog-John and Jimmy play your soon to be favorite Christmas songs" is finally here. This acoustic Christmas album was recorded by myself and my good friend Jimmy Reed at Solid Sound in Ann Arbor and Engineered by our good friend and engineer extraordinary, Jeff Stutzman.

Fleas Naughty Dog is a collection of 9 songs--all acoustic--all groovy. The only "traditional" tune on the album is a rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" that is guaranteed to please. The other tunes are all originals.

There are a few lighthearted tunes. "Fa La La Song" is a snapshot of life at the Voelz home on Christmas morning. I thought I would put the lyrics here to wet your appetite and give you a feel for the "mood" of the CD. You can order a copy directly from me at john@westwinds.org. CD's are 10 bucks + 2 bucks for shipping. Just send me an email with your address and I will ship it out. Make your check payable for 12 bucks to John Voelz and send it to:

Fa La La Song

Monopoly and video games
All day long it's Christmas day
I'm staying in my sweats--Watch the parade while doing backrubs in a train

And for my only Christmas gift
I want you kids to hug and kiss
And take the dog to pee outside--Is that too much to ask so we can hide?

The fake fireplace is burning warm behind the glass
Put on that Jack Black movie one more time so we can laugh

Fa la la la la la la Fa la la la la la la la

Talk to grandma then come settle down
It's time to play some Scrabble now
Yes, that word is funny but, mommy doesn't like that humor

Let's watch the new concert DVD
Pass the Chili-Cheese Fritos back to me
The coffee sure tastes good--make a fourth pot? Yes, we should.

Today my butt is sitting right here on this couch
'Cause we're all together as a family and calories don't count

Mr. Hewson, I'm with you. That's why I got this here tattoo.
Every boy and every girl--in spite of what they're born into
Should feel the feeling that I feel today--the freedom that I feel today

Fa la la la la la la Fa la la la la la la la
